MarkOn® Walls is a small studio. We collect only the information needed to respond to your inquiry, scope your project, and follow through on a commission. We do not sell personal data, run third-party advertising trackers, or share information with brokers. This page explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
This site is operated by MarkOn® Walls, a hand-finished plaster studio founded by Vlad Markov. The studio is based at 73 Manhattan Avenue, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York 11222, and serves projects globally by invitation. For any question about this policy, write to studio@markonwalls.com.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Project inquiry form — name, email, phone, role (homeowner / architect / designer / developer / agent), project location, surface or scope, finishes of interest, space type, anticipated timeline, how you found us, and any free-text message.
- Trade account requests — firm name, contact, license/insurance documentation if you submit it, and any sample-box shipping address.
- Correspondence — emails, voicemails, and texts you send the studio, including attached photography, drawings, or specifications.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs — IP address, user-agent string, request timestamps, referrer. Retained on the hosting provider for routine security and operations.
- No third-party advertising trackers. We do not run Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or similar profile-building tools on this site.
- Cookies — only strictly necessary cookies for site function. No cross-site tracking.
What the Wall Visualizer does NOT collect
The interactive Wall Visualizer runs entirely in your browser. Photos you upload are processed locally and are not transmitted to our servers, not stored, and not seen by anyone at the studio unless you separately send us the rendered image.
How we use your information
- To review your inquiry and respond personally — usually within two business days.
- To schedule and conduct site visits, scope reviews, sample previews, and finish specification.
- To prepare written proposals, contracts, and invoices for engagements that move forward.
- To send occasional studio updates only if you explicitly opt in (no default opt-in).
How long we keep it
- Inquiries that don't proceed to engagement — retained for up to 24 months, then deleted on annual housekeeping.
- Client project files — retained for the duration of the engagement plus a standard records-retention period for tax, warranty, and reference purposes (typically seven years).
- Server logs — rotated by the hosting provider on a rolling basis, typically 30 to 90 days.
Who has access
Inquiry contents are read by Vlad Markov and a small studio team on a need-to-know basis. We use third-party tools for limited operational functions (email delivery, calendaring, contract signing, payment processing). These vendors process information only on our instruction and under their own published privacy commitments. We never sell, rent, or trade personal information.
Your rights
You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. For residents of California, the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with similar laws, you have additional rights to portability, restriction, and withdrawal of consent. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.
To exercise a right, write to studio@markonwalls.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days.
Children
This site and the services described on it are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
International visitors
The studio operates from New York and stores most records on US-based providers. If you contact us from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, subject to this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. The effective date at the top of the page will change accordingly. Material changes will be flagged in plain language on this page.
